JASPERS and the Committee of the Regions are jointly organising a seminar to inform about EU funding and available JASPERS assistance to support smart urban development around Europe. Concrete cases and expertise will be presented.

The event will take place on 1^st December, at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. It will bring together CoR members, ESIF managing authorities as well as regions and cities which may benefit from JASPERS’ assistance, but also private companies and investors and representatives of various European bodies.

This initiative is part of the "Urban Agenda for the EU" which promotes integrated answers to multiple local challenges. Discussions will focus on the utilisation of ESIF funds for smart urban development, including through the Integrated Territorial Investment Mechanism.

This publication describes JASPERS available advisory and capacity building activities in support of the Smart Development agenda and related investment projects.

Please note that the capacity of the venue is limited, and registrations will be done on a first come, first served basis.

The seminar is expected to be followed by a series of local workshops organised by JASPERS in some of its countries of operation. Mayors and other Members of the Committee of the Regions are invited to express interest in having such a local event held in one of their cities in the first half of 2017. The final outcome of these workshops will feed into a joint report on the Implementation of the EU Urban Agenda.
